That we might know Him

There was a very difficult period in my life when I felt so incredibly lost and lonely and I didn’t know which direction to turn.

I was suffering from acute anxiety that was crippling me in areas of my everyday life.

To look at me I was the picture of health but inside I was a mess and completely lost.

It wasn’t until I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour that I truly discovered who I was and ‘found myself’ and found fulfillment in Him.

Jesus desired for me to know Him in the same way that He knew me.

Below are lyrics to part of the chorus of the song ‘Know you’:

I was lost but you came to find me

Leaving the many you would come to draw me back to you

I was empty but you came and filled me

In love you opened up my eyes that I would know you

The song is based on the parable of ‘The lost sheep’ found in Matthew 18:12-14 and Luke 15:3-7.

Jesus clearly shows us that He is the shepherd that would do anything to find and bring back a lost sheep, even if it meant leaving the ninety-nine others in the hope of drawing that one sheep back to him.

He would even lay down his life for the sake of that one lost sheep.

Even if you were the only one person left on earth, Jesus would still choose to die on a cross, just for you.

That is how much he loves you and me.

Not only does God save us a VIP seat at the front before his feet but he also calls us by name to come to Him.

Jesus leaves the many, searches for us when we are amidst our darkest moments, takes us by the hand and rescues us from our loneliness and emptiness.

If you are feeling lost and lonely right now and are in need of help, comfort and love; Jesus is calling your name and reaching out to you.

Accept his invitation of love and find rest and peace in his arms of love and forgiveness.

There is absolutely nothing that can separate you from God’s amazing love and no amount of hurt, distress or anxiety is too difficult for him to deal with.

God has a plan to prosper you and he has a future of hope mapped out for you.

Will you allow Jesus to open your eyes so you would know him and be restored?

  2. Beautiful voice and lyrics. To God be all the glory! I don’t know how people get through rough patches in their lives without knowing our Lord and what He has done for us and the absolute peace that can only be gained through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  3. I love the song and enjoyed playing with harmonies on the chorus. The quality of the song is great and the voice is beautiful and moving. The only thing I noticed in the way of constructive criticism, since you invited that, is the volume seemed to drop pretty low on a couple little words in the verses, usually at the end of the line, but having the lyrics helped with that. Of course it could be that my hearing isn’t what it used to be. 🙂 There’s a nice contrast between the soft verses and the powerful chorus. Oh, and I loved the pictures you used in the video. The words remind me of how Jesus came to find me when I was lost. Now, I pray and believe he is doing the same for my daughter. Praying for abundant blessings to both of you.

    1. Oh my goodness! Thank you so so much for listening and commenting…..and for the constructive criticism (completely get what you’re saying).
I am praying for your daughter and standing in agreement that she will come to know Jesus in a real way.
My mom and dad prayed for me continuously and I was so horrible to them. I would mock them about their faith and hated to hear them talk about Jesus. My life got turned upside down and I eventually came to know Jesus in a real and powerful way. If God could do it for me then He can do it for your daughter.
      Much love,
      Hayley 😊💞

      1. Reading this means so much to me. It’s a big comfort. My daughter is more respectful to me now that she’s in her 20s, but she posts negative things about Christianity on FB that hurt my heart. Still, I know Jesus can and will handle this. Thanks so much for your prayers and sharing your experience. ❤

      2. Oh bless you. I know my mom was hurt by a lot of things that I said and did also. I honestly didn’t realise at the time how much though and I’m sure your daughter doesn’t either. “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” springs to mind. God has an amazing plan for your family! Keep trusting in His perfect will and timing. Love & blessings, Hayley ❤️😊
