John 4:23-24 – A bible study
John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
This bible verse, in my opinion, is the most prolific scripture regarding worship and, as a lover of worship, has always grabbed my attention.
For that reason, I will be breaking this scripture down so that we can really grasp the meaning & depth of what Jesus was trying to convey.
I pray this study on worship will bless you and encourage you to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus as you encounter Him in a real and life changing way.
‘One who shows great reverence, love and adoration for God, whereby God is given the highest esteem, at the top of of a persons priorities’.
When we truly and sincerely worship God, we do so with our whole heart, not merely in deed or form but giving our absolute all and withholding nothing.
Its about offering complete surrender to God and saying ‘God, I give you all of me.’
True worship is reflected in our daily lives, not just Sunday mornings in church.
Anyone can sing songs of worship in church but this does not necessarily mean that it is true worship.
True worship is the evidence of a redeemed and forgiven soul, living their everyday life in surrender to the fullness and majesty of God.
True worship is exaggerated and extravagant; it does not hold back from expressing love and admiration for Jesus.
This kind of worship is an outpouring of a thankful and grateful heart from someone who has been saved and set free.
This true worship is not dependent upon our surroundings or on our circumstances.
Instead, it holds fast to the knowledge of the goodness of God and how much He loves us
