9th February 2018 The week in review

It’s Friday again folks – comes round quick doesn’t it? In case you missed anything here on Red Letters, here’s a round up of the week.

Monday Must-have

My family and I visited the cinema last Saturday to see ‘The Greatest Showman’. I found the film to be quite inspiring and felt there were some lessons to take from the storyline. I shared encouragement for those of you who are still waiting for God-given dreams and visions to come to pass.

A big thank you to my friend from Meeting Jesus Blog for leaving this great comment:

God has done this in my life in so many ways…and I don’t think a one of the ways was what I dreamed. That includes the journey I am on now. He has a way of making sure we know He fulfills our dreams and not we ourselves.”

Tuesday Talk

Every Tuesday, I like to write an article about current news stories that capture my attention. This week’s Tuesday Talk featured the heart-warming story of British Grandfather, Ghafoor Hussain, who travels 2,000 miles to refugee camps and cooks hot meals for strangers on his purpose built bus.

My friend, Patrick from On God’s payroll, left this encouraging comment,

“What a Beautiful example of WHY God made us: TO SHARE HIS LOVE!There are amazing people in our midst if we look for them.”

Wednesday Worship

Not one, not two but three people requested me to sing this powerful worship song! I had forgotten the third person who’d requested it but thankfully received a lovely comment to tell me it was indeed Grace from Following Him beside still waters. What a privilege to sing these words, ‘In Christ Alone, my hope is found’.

I have some exciting things coming up for the next couple of ‘Wednesday Worship’ posts and will be sharing the love. Next week will feature my Dad, Gordon, playing the piano and the week after I have a surprise! Make sure you check in with me on Wednesday 14th for more details on this.

Thursday Thought

It was my Dad’s 79th Birthday yesterday (Thursday 8th February) and I wanted to write a tribute for him. I shared his testimony and a short video clip of him playing the piano.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. They all got passed on to him and he was delighted with all the beautiful birthday wishes he received.

That rounds up the week. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and will see you on Monday Morning.

      1. Thank you very much. I’m having to use a copied message to reach very many followers. Still, thanks for all that you do with your posts.

      2. That’s okay.
Some advice for you though on copied messages if I may….. there are many people on here that may not appreciate you doing this as the comment section should specifically relate to the writers post. I am not personally bothered by it but I do think that others could be. Hope you can understand where I’m coming from. Blessings, Hayley 😊

      3. Thank you very much. The difficult thing is to remember all of my followers, and if I have made a certain comment to each of them. All together, more than 7million people follow my 8 WP blogs. That number is strengthened through a distribution of posts through two each of fb and twitter, 8 G+, one each of myspace and tumbler. It’s a good problem to have, but difficult to respond to all comments. But, I have a message to share. I will try to address the issue that you have stated in a better way. Please know that I always appreciate constructive criticism, and even those comments that come from people that are less than constructive. Please excuse any typos. My internet and computer have been giving me fits. Very slow, to very fast. I have been deleting as many files as I can do, but I have many to go. Thanks for being a friend.

      4. I think that I will advertize UTLOT through other blogs that I write. Then my followers will see a statement on each of those posts, with a link to UTLOT. Thanks for giving me the thought to think.

  1. The week went by so fast! I watched ‘The Greatest Showman’ at the beginning of the year and found it quite delightful. I’m just too lazy to write a review for it at the moment.

  2. I missed your Thursday post but caught up a bit by listening to your dad play. It’s easy to see where you get your talent. And please wish him a happy belated birthday from me. God’s blessings to you and your family.

    1. Thank you so much. 💕
I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you. 🙏
This is probably a ridiculous question but how was the funeral? I hope that, amidst the sorrow, it was a great celebration of his life. ❤️
      Blessings, Hayley 😊

      1. It’s not ridiculous at all. God’s grace was abundant. The speaker used the scriptures God had given me concerning peace and comfort for the family. In sharing with several of the family, I believe they were comforted by God’s word. God is faithful in all things. We have an awesome God. Thank you for your prayers and your friendship.

  3. Sounds like you had a full week. I still haven’t seen the Greatest Showman but I have watched that video of their rehearsal where Hugh had just had stiches on his nose and wasn’t aloud to sing about a million times! lol.

Love ya singing. Good stuff Hayley

      1. Oh my goodness! Trust me to get the wrong end of the stick and think it sounded funny!! Poor guy, I had no idea. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. He really does have an amazing voice!
